The child that he was

The child that he was
There sat alone
wanting so hard to let go
of the chains that bound him

He had no friends
who could teach him the latest trends
A shabby cloth he wore each day
nothing effusive that would betray
the body that was decrepit.
The bones that asthough
would pierce out any second.
The clay toys he played
nothing glimery;poverty he could never evade
Dreams were afraid to come to him
at night;when he fought to sleep
being a destitute made him weep.
The cherished day for him
the jaggery water filled to the brim

The child that he was
There sat alone
wanting so hard to let go
of the chains that bound him

To life...
